ANS is expanding and hires development engineer Jonas Lundmark. Jonas has a Ph.Lic. in Tribology from Luleå University of Technology and has worked for Munters before joining ANS.

ANS won the Industrial Sustainability Prize 2009, in the category "Best Research Project". The project is a joint research project between ANS, Uppsala university, Volvo Powertrain and Scania.

As part of its continued commitment to technical excellence, ANS hires a new development manager, Dr Boris Zhmud, to strengthen its development team. Dr Zhmud is Associate Professor in Physical Chemistry at Lund University, member of the British Royal Society of Chemistry and the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE). He has extensive industrial experience in development of energy-efficient lubricants.

ANS is nominated for the Big Sustainability Prize 2009, in the category "Best Research Project". The prize ceremony will take place during the Scandinavian Technical Fair in Stockholm, October 14.

ANS is nominated for the E-Prize 2009. The prize is created by E.ON and Veckans Affärer in order to promote innovative companies and technology that can reduce energy waste. The prize ceremony will take place at the Moderna Museet, June 2.

ANS was listed on the Nordic Cleantech 50 list as one of the Nordic region's hottest cleantech companies. ANS won the prize as the most promising cleanTech company at the Investment Forum, a contest at The Swedish National Energy Convention 2009. The Prize was awarded by a high level investment jury consisting of Malin Nordgren (IKEA GreenTech AB), André Heintz (Sustainable Technologies Fund), Lars-Olof Bäckman (Spiltan), Tobias Elmquist (Volvo Technology Transfer) and Per Ericsson (ETF).

Sjätte AP-fonden invests in ANS. ANS has now secured funds for the next two years when verification projects will be done together with a number of potential customers, including Volvo Powertrain, Scania and Hägglunds Drives.

ANS, Volvo Powertrain, Scania and Uppsala University launches joint project with 2.9 MSEK in funding from the Proenviro Program. The funding will be used to verify friction reduction in heavy duty diesel engines, and the target is to improve the fuel economy by 1.8%. The project brings together two of the world's largest and best engine manufacturers, a leading University in Materials Science and ANS' new and innovative coating technology.
ProEnviro was set up jointly by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, SSF, and the Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research, Mistra.
